At the height of the Vietnam War, a college student, about to graduate and lose his student deferment, tries to win the last seat in a Brooklyn rabbinical school. But the student is an atheist and the rabbi, who has set up this for-profit yeshiva as a haven for draft dodgers, wants no part of this non-believer.
